Approach and Methodology


 

The website will be designed as a collection of modules. Each module will be hosted on a separate sub-domain and will contain various processes to manage content as per laid down policies

 

Modules

Content Management System

This module will contain various processes to manage the content for the website. One process will manage content updation for web pages and parts of web pages. Another process will manage sites themes and skins. Another process will manage templates which determine how the content stored in databases is displayed on webpages. This module will draw the best practices available in public CMS packages like Wordpress, Joomla and Drupal.

 

News and Events Management System

This module will contain two processes

News Process: This process will allow authorized users to upload news items. The news items may contain images, headlines, extracts and any other data found suitable. The process will allow for multiple steps to be executed such as uploading of news, editing of news, approval or rejection of news, publication of news. This process will follow news schema available at http:// schema.org/NewsArticle

Events Process: This process will allow events to be posted on the website. The events module will allow posting of various types of events, including events lasting few hours, one day or longer. The events posted by may be one-time or recurring.

Photo Gallery Management System

This module will contain various processes relating to management of images and pictures. One process will allow authorized users to upload pictures. Another process will allow pictures to be resized, cropped, and converted from one format to another and so on. Another process may allow creation of thumbnails and lowers images for quicker download. This module will use the following schemas

Video Gallery Management System

This module will contain various processes relating to management of audio-visual content. One process will allow authorized users to upload videos. Another process will allow videos to be resized. Yet another process will be allowing change of video encoding. This module will use schema available at

Enquiry Management System

This module will contain various processes relating to generation of enquiries and communication of their satisfactory outcomes. One process will allow anyone to generate enquiries. The process will record the enquiry and mail them a token number. Another process will allow answers to be submitted to the enquiry. A third process will manage the entire flow till the enquiry is resolved.

 

Download section management

This module will contain various processes relating to management of download section. One process will allow authorized users to upload content and resources for the download section. Another process will allow review of uploaded content and decision whether the content would be available in the download section.

This module will also have a process for maintaining the list of download categories and a process for categorizing each download.

 

Resource Management System - PDF Archiving

This module will contain various processes relating to management of resources. One process will allow archiving of resources. This process will remove the resource from website into an area where it may be preserved or may be deleted. The archived items would be maintained on the cloud for a period of 10 years or longer.

 

Tender Uploading System

This module will contain various processes relating to management of tenders. One process will allow uploading of tenders including tender documents. Another process will allow tenders information to be updated including changes in dates for submission. Another process will send emails to subscribed entities whenever a tender is uploaded. Tenders module will also contain processes to categorize content. Tenders would be automatically archived seven days after last date of submission has passed. The date may be determined by authorities.

 

Career/Job Uploading and management system

This module will contain various processes relating to management of jobs. One process will allow jobs to be created. Another will allow the updation of data. Yet another will allow for archiving of data. Another process will allow candidates to submit their resumes against a particular job. Jobs would be categorized. One job may come under multiple categories. The module will follow schema at

Management System for News and Alerts

This module will contain various processes relating to management of alerts. These alerts may be information about workshops and programmes. Another process will manage news and highlights. Import notices would be managed by another process.

 

Magazine Archive Management System

This module will contain various processes relating to management of magazines published by the Quality Council. One process will allow news issues to be uploaded. Another process will allow older issues to be removed/archived.

This module may also provide a subscription option to subscribe to the magazines.

 

Admin panel

This module will contain various processes to manage various modules and users. One process will manage various types of permissions required by various modules. Another process will manage various roles and assignment of permissions to various roles. Another process will manage assignment of various roles to users.

Admin module will contain various processes to manage logs including visitors to websites. Also logs of changes to website and various types resources.

 

Public Website

This module will contain the final product. The website will have several features including those defined in the tender such as

 

SEO ready Site

The website will be SEO friendly and will be easy for Google crawling, google webmasters, google analytics, and mix panel analytics. The website will use good, white hat techniques including organic, high-quality content and adding good descriptive tags

The website will not use any Black hat SEO illicit techniques that manipulate search engines to try to rank a site higher.

 

Responsive website

The website will follow responsive web design (RWD) setup where the server always sends the same HTML code to all devices and CSS is used to alter the rendering of the page on the device.

The website will be equally good looking on desktops, tablets and mobile phones. The website will be tested on all popular browsers and on various screen sizes.
